Rice Field Ubinan Subround 2 of 2024

On Thursday (15/08), Statistics Indonesia of Berau Regency conducted a rice field ubinan (sample plot) in Buyung-Buyung Village, Tabalar Subdistrict.

The activity began with selecting the sample plot using the FASIH application, followed by land measurement using footsteps. The calculated results are input into the application, which then identifies the sample coordinates to be harvested. The selected sample covers an area of 2.5 x 2.5 meters. After harvesting, the number of clumps is counted and input into the application. The harvested rice is then threshed and weighed. The threshed rice is compared to the productivity of the previous subround. The highest yield recorded during this ubinan was 3.66 kilograms.

Through this Ubinan Survey, Statistics Indonesia not only gathered statistical data on harvest yields but also obtained information on the current challenges faced by farmers in dealing with unpredictable environmental conditions.
