The Desa Cantik Development Program

As the implementation of sectoral statistics within local governments becomes more intensive to achieve comprehensive data governance, one of the routine activities carried out by Statistics Indonesia of Berau Regency is the Desa Cantik (Statistically Capable Village) Development Program. In 2025, the program will focus on Gayam Subdistrict.

The initial step in this development effort involved a coordination meeting attended by the Head of the Sectoral Statistics Team, Lita Januarti Hakim, S.ST., M.Si, along with Jami'atul Mualifah, SST, and the Desa Cantik Supervisor, Elvina Candra Urbaningrum, S.Tr.Stat. They met directly with the Head of Gayam Subdistrict, Mr. Purwanto, ST, who was accompanied by the subdistrict secretary and the Head of Government Affairs.

The Gayam Subdistrict officials welcomed and fully supported the initiative to ensure its successful implementation. Mr. Purwanto also expressed his commitment to actively participate as a Statistics Agent within Gayam Subdistrict.
