Abstract

The Business Tendency Index (BTI) portrays the latest indicator of economic developments undertaken by BPS Statistics Indonesia through Business Tendency Surveys, which conducted quarterly in Jabotabek area (Jakarta-Bogor- Tangerang-Bekasi area). Respondent of this Quarter IV-2001 survey is business executive from 152 medium and large companies.
In Quarter IV-2001 (October-December 2001) the business tendency index was above 100, that was 101.03. This index indicates that the business condition in Quarter IV-2001 in general is still somewhat little bit better than the condition in III-2001.
Meanwhile, the Tendency Business Index in Quarter I-2002 (January-March 2002) is under 100 that was 96.27. This index reflects that the business prospect in Quarter I-2002 is less optimists compared than that was in Quarter IV-2001.
