Abstract

Kalimantan Timur experienced an inflation of 0.49 percent in February 2008, or an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 163.59 in January 2008 to 164.39 in February 2008. With this inflation rate, the inflation rate for the calendar year 2008 (January-February 2008) Kalimantan Timur has reached 2.37 percent and the 'year on year' inflation rate (February 2008 to February 2007) reached 9.48 percent.

Samarinda City experienced inflation of 0.00 percent and Balikpapan City experienced inflation of 1.06 percent. Therefore, for these two cities, the inflation rate inflation rate in calendar year 2008 (January-February 2008) has reached 2.51 and 2.21 percent and the year on year inflation rate (February 2008-February 2007) respectively reached 9.88 and 9.02 percent.
