Abstract

In December 2010, East Kalimantan experienced an inflation rate of 0.75 percent, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rising from 129.53 in November 2010 to 130.50 in December 2010. With this inflation rate, the calendar year inflation for 2010 (January-December 2010), which is also the year-on-year inflation (December 2010 compared to December 2009), reached 7.28 percent.
When broken down by city, in December 2010, Samarinda experienced an inflation rate of 0.46 percent, Balikpapan 0.72 percent, and Tarakan 1.79 percent. Thus, the calendar year inflation for 2010 (January-December) and the year-on-year inflation for these three cities were 7.00 percent for Samarinda, 7.38 percent for Balikpapan, and 7.92 percent for Tarakan.
