Abstract

In April 2011 , East Kalimantan experienced an inflation rate of 0.33 percent, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rising from 133.99 in March 2011 to 134.43 in April 2011. With this inflation rate, the calendar year inflation for 2011 (January-April 2011) is 3.01 percent and year-on-year inflation (April 2011 compared to April 2010), reached 8.06 percent.
When broken down by city, in April 2011, Samarinda experienced an inflation rate of 0.38 percent, Balikpapan 0.45 percent, and Tarakan 0.18 percent. Thus, the calendar year inflation for 2011 (January-April) for these three cities was 3.17 percent for Samarinda, 2.84 percent for Balikpapan, and 2.97 percent for Tarakan. The year-on-year inflation for April 2011 for these three cities was 7.95 percent for Samarinda, 7.41 percent for Balikpapan, and 10.30 percent for Tarakan.
