Abstract

In March 2013, East Kalimantan experienced an inflation rate of 0.49 percent, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rising from 149.91 in February 2013 to 150.64 in March 2013. This brought the calendar year inflation rate for East Kalimantan to 2.79 percent as of March 2013, while the year-on-year inflation rate was 6.29 percent.
Breaking it down by city, in March 2013, Samarinda experienced an inflation rate of 0.12 percent, Balikpapan 0.87 percent, and Tarakan 0.66 percent. By March 2013, the calendar year inflation rate for Samarinda was 2.91 percent, Balikpapan 2.52 percent, and Tarakan 3.13 percent. Meanwhile, the year-on-year inflation rate for Samarinda was 5.61 percent, Balikpapan 6.84 percent, and Tarakan 6.98 percent.
