Economic Growth of Kalimantan Timur Province in Fourth Quarter 2016

Economy of Kalimantan Timur Province in fourth quarter 2016 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reached Rp 142.9 trillion and GRDP at constant prices of 2010 reached Rp 112.2 trillion.

The economic performance of Kalimantan Timur Province in fourth quarter 2016 increased by 2.64 percent when compared to the previous quarter (q-to-q), but when compared to the same quarter in 2015 contracted by negative 0.30 percent (y-on- y). Cumulatively, the economic growth of Kalimantan Timur Province from the first quarter to the fourth quarter of 2016 compared to the same period in 2015 contracted by 0.38 per cent negative (c-to-c).

On the production side, the pace of economic growth in the fourth quarter of 2016 are y-on-y affected by the performance degradation Fields Mining and Quarrying are corrected by a negative 1.67 percent, Construction (-2.07 per cent), Government Administration (-15 , 13 percent), Service Companies (-2.36 percent), Rela Estate (-1.74 percent) and Financial Services (-1.50 percent). On the expenditure side is influenced by Government Consumption Expenditure components that undergo significant correction at negative 14.48 percent, Consumption Expenditure components LNPRT also corrected by a negative 8.22 percent.

When compared to the previous quarter (q-to-q), one of which was driven by an increase in one line of business that is quite dominant, namely Mining and Quarrying grew by 3.78 percent, 3.37 percent Processing Industry and Agriculture grew by 0.43 per cent , Besides, some positive growth trends Business Sector played a role in contributing q to q growth this quarter. On the expenditure side components affected by the Government Consumption Expenditure increased by 95.64 percent.
