Abstract
The number of labor force in Kalimantan Timur in August 2017 reached 1,654,964 people, reduced by 62,928 people compared to the labor force in August 2016 (1,717,892 people). The number of people working in Kalimantan Timur in August 2017 was 1,540,675, reduced by 40,564 people compared to August 2016 (1,581,239 people).
Unemployment rate (TPT) in Kalimantan Timur in August 2017 reached 6.91 percent or as many as 114,289 people, decreasing compared to the TPT August 2016 of 7.95 percent (136,653 people). In August 2017, the population generally worked on the trade sector by 25.23 percent, followed by the service sector by 23.16 percent and the agricultural sector by 21.32 percent.
In August 2017, 329,222 people (21.37 percent) worked with less than 35 hours per week working hours, while the working population with 35 hours or more working hours per week (including those not working) reached 1,211,453 people (78 , 63 percent).
