Abstract

  • Out of 82 national CPI monitoring cities, 68 cities experienced inflation and 14 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Singaraja Town of 1.80 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Bekasi and Palopo respectively of 0.02 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Tual Municipality of -2.74 percent and the lowest deflation occurred in Manokwari Municipality of -0.02 percent.
  • Kalimantan Timur Province (Combined Samarinda Municipality and Balikpapan Municipality) in November 2017 occurred Deflation of 0.16 percent with inflation rate calendar year of 2.10 percent and Year-on-year Inflation rate of 3.16 percent.
  • In November 2017 there was 0.12 percent deflation in Samarinda Municipality and 0.20 percent deflation in Balikpapan Municipality.
  • Deflation in Kalimantan Timur was influenced by the decline in the food price index by 1.04 percent, and the decrease in the health group by 0.19 percent. While the inflation of expenditure group occurred in the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group by 0.10 percent followed by the education, recreation and sports and transportation and communication groups by 0.07 percent, the finished food, drinks , cigarettes and tobacco by 0.05 percent and clothing by 0.03 percent.
