Abstract

  • Of the 82 cities monitoring national CPI, in September 2018, 16 cities experienced inflation and 66 other cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Bengkulu Municipality by 0.59 percent and the lowest occurred in Bungo Municipality by 0.01 percent. Whereas the highest deflation occurred in the Municipality of Pare-pare
  • 1.59 percent and the lowest in the cities of Tegal, Singkawang, Samarinda and Ternate respectively by -0.01 percent.
  • Kalimantan Timur Province (Samarinda Municipality and Balikpapan Municipality Association) in September 2018 there was a deflation of
  • 0.26 percent with a calendar year inflation rate of 2.92 percent and a year-on-year inflation rate of 3.61 percent.
  • In September 2018 there was a deflation of -0.01 percent in Samarinda Municipality and a deflation of -0.60 percent in Balikpapan Municipality.
  • Deflation in Kalimantan Timur was affected by a decline in the price index in the foodstuffs and transportation and communication groups, each at -2.33 percent and -0.74 percent. While the other 5 groups experienced an increase in index, namely housing, water, electriMunicipality, gas and fuel by 0.81 percent, education, recreation and sports by 0.74 percent, processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0, 27 percent, clothing group by 0.17 percent and health group by 0.11 percent.
