Abstract

Kalimantan Timur Province (Combined Samarinda Municipality and Balikpapan Municipality) in November 2018 there was a deflation of -0.06 percent with a calendar year inflation rate of 2.69 percent and a year-on-year inflation rate of 3.74 percent.
In November 2018 there was a deflation of -0.12 percent in Samarinda Municipality and an inflation of 0.01 percent in Balikpapan Municipality.
Deflation in Kalimantan Timur was influenced by a decrease in the price index in the foodstuffs and health groups by -1.75 percent and -0.17 percent respectively. While the other 5 groups experienced an increase in index, namely the transportation and communication group by 1.34 percent, the education, recreation and sports group by 0.28 percent, the clothing group by 0.22 percent and the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco groups and groups housing, water, electriMunicipality, gas and fuel respectively at 0.05 percent.
