Abstract

The number of poor people in Kalimantan Timur in September 2018 was 222.39 thousand (6.06 percent). In March 2018, there were 218.90 thousand (6.03 percent), which meant that the absolute number of poor people increased by 3.49 thousand people (up 0.03 percentage points).
During March 2018 - September 2018, the poverty line (GK) rose by 4.09 percent, from Rp.574,704, - per capita per month in March 2018 to Rp.598,200 - per capita per month in September 2018.
In the period March 2018 - September 2018, the Poverty Depth Index fell from 0.846 in March 2018 to 0.764 in September 2018. The Poverty Severity Index also fell from 0.197 to 0.148 in the same period.
As of September 2018, the level of inequality of population expenditure measured by the Gini Ratio was recorded at 0.342. This figure is equal to the Gini Ratio in March 2018.
As of September 2018, the distribution of expenditure for the lowest population of 40 percent is 19.69 percent. This means that population expenditure is still in the low level of inequality category.
