During July 2021, there was a deflation of -0.02 percent in Kalimantan Timur

Abstract

  • In July 2021, of the 90 cities monitored by the national CPI, as many as 61 cities experienced inflation and 29 cities experienced deflation.The highest inflation occurred in Sorong at 1.51 percent and the lowest was in Sorong of 0.01 percent occurred in Sampit. While the highest deflation occurred in Manokwari by -0.60 percent and the lowest was -0.01 percent occurred in Maumere and Samarinda.
  • Kalimantan Timur Province (Combination of Samarinda City and Balikpapan City ) in July 2021 there will be a deflation of -0.02 percent with a calendar year inflation rate of 1.27 percent and a rate of Year-on-year inflation was 1.12 percent.
  • In July 2021, there will be a deflation for Samarinda City of -0.01 percent and in the City of Balikpapan -0.03 percent. Deflation occurs due to a decrease in prices shown by the decline in several indexes of expenditure groups, namely: clothing and footwear group by -0.88 percent; followed personal care and other services group of -0.29 percent; food, beverage, and tobacco group by -0.19 percent; recreation, sports and cultural groups of -0.09 percent; information, communication and financial services group by -0.08 percent; and the education group of -0.01 percent. The groups that experienced an increase in the index were health group by 1.09 percent; equipment group, equipment, and routine household maintenance by 0.41percent; housing group, water, home fuel electricity ladder by 0.15 percent; as well as transportation groups and groups providing food and beverages/restaurants with each index is 0.03 percent
