Abstract

In February 2024, there was a year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation of 4.14 percent in Berau Regency, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.32.
The y-on-y inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by the rise in several expenditure group indexes, namely: the food, beverage, and tobacco group by 9.99 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 4.64 percent; the housing, water, electricity, and fuel group by 0.26 percent; the household equipment, appliances, and routine maintenance group by 1.00 percent; the health group by 25.64 percent; the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.3 percent; the recreation, sports, and cultural group by 6.18 percent; the education group by 0.43 percent; the food and beverage provision/restaurants group by 0.93 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 3.95 percent. The transportation group experienced a decrease in the index by 0.82 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate in Berau Regency for February 2024 were 0.64 percent and 1.79 percent, respectively."
