Abstract

In March 2024, Berau Regency experienced a year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate of 4.05 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.55.
The y-on-y inflation occurred due to the rise in prices indicated by the increase in several expenditure group indices, namely:

Food, beverages, and tobacco group by 9.97 percent;
Clothing and footwear group by 4.05 percent;
Housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.37 percent;
Household equipment, appliances, and routine maintenance group by 1.08 percent;
Health group by 25.24 percent;
Information, communication, and financial services group by 0.03 percent;
Recreation, sports, and culture group by 5.34 percent;
Education group by 0.43 percent;
Food and beverage provision/restaurant group by 0.36 percent; and
Personal care and other services group by 4.89 percent.

The transportation group saw a decrease in the index by 1.20 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Berau Regency in March 2024 were 0.22 percent and 2.01 percent, respectively.
