Abstract

In May 2024, the year on year (y-on-y) inflation rate in Berau Regency was 3.76 percent, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) at 107.56.
The y-on-y inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by the rise in several expenditure group indices, namely: food, beverages, and tobacco by 8.60 percent; clothing and footwear by 2.62 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuels by 0.36 percent; household equipment, appliances, and routine maintenance by 0.86 percent; health by 24.65 percent; recreation, sports, and culture by 4.43 percent; education by 0.43 percent; food and beverage provision/restaurants by 1.42 percent; and personal care and other services by 5.99 percent. On the other hand, the transportation group experienced a decrease in index by 0.95 percent, and the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.34 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate in Berau Regency for May 2024 were 0.03 percent and 2.98 percent, respectively.
