Abstract

In October 2024, Berau Regency experienced a year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate of 3.54 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 107.32.
Y-on-y inflation was driven by price increases in several expenditure groups: food, beverages, and tobacco rose by 7.66 percent; clothing and footwear by 3.39 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuels by 0.65 percent; household equipment, appliances, and routine maintenance by 1.88 percent; healthcare by 24.36 percent; recreation, sports, and culture by 4.55 percent; education by 1.68 percent; food and beverage services/restaurants by 1.51 percent; and personal care and other services by 3.90 percent.
Meanwhile, the transport group saw a decline of 1.11 percent, and the information, communication, and financial services group decreased by 0.20 percent.
Month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate in Berau for October 2024 was 0.61 percent, and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate stood at 2.75 percent.
