Abstract

Based on the results of monitoring by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in August 2006, Kalimantan Timur experienced inflation of 0.36 percent, or an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 146.52 in July 2006 to 147.05 in August 2006. With this inflation rate, the inflation rate of Kalimantan Timur in 2006 (August 2006 to December 2005) reached 5.16 percent, while the 'year on year' inflation rate (August 2006 to August 2005) reached 16.53 percent.
