Abstract

Kalimantan Timur experienced an inflation of 0.91 percent in July, or an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 150.89 in June 2007 to 152.27 in July 2007. With this inflation rate, the inflation rate for calendar year 2007 (January-July 2007) Kalimantan Timur reached 2.69 percent and the 'year on year' inflation rate (July 2007 to July 2006) reached 3.93 percent.

Samarinda City experienced inflation of 0.96 percent and Balikpapan City experienced inflation of 0.86 percent. Thus for these two cities the inflation rate for calendar year 2007 (January-July) has reached 3.23 and 2.07 percent, respectively. While the rate of inflation year on year (July 2006-July 2007) reached 5.50 and 2.15 percent, respectively.
