Abstract

Kalimantan Timur experienced a 1.01 percent inflation in December, or an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 158.98 in November 2007 to 160.58 in December 2007. With this inflation rate, the inflation rate for calendar year 2007 (January-December 2007) and also the 'year on year' inflation rate (December 2007 to December 2006) reached 8.30 percent.

Samarinda City experienced inflation of 0.75 percent and Balikpapan City experienced inflation of 1.31 percent. Therefore, for these two cities, the inflation rate for calendar year 2007 (January-December) and year-on-year inflation (December 2006-December 2007) reached 9.18 and 7.27 percent, respectively.
