Abstract

Kalimantan Timur experienced an inflation of 1.47 percent in March 2008, or an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 164.39 in February 2008 to 166.80 in March 2008. With this inflation rate, the inflation rate for the calendar year 2008 (January-March 2008) Kalimantan Timur has reached 3.87 percent and the 'year on year' inflation rate (March 2008 to March 2007) has reached 11.05 percent.
Samarinda City experienced inflation of 1.43 percent and Balikpapan City experienced inflation of 1.51 percent. Thus, for these two cities, the inflation rate inflation rate in calendar year 2008 (January-March 2008) has reached 3.97 and 3.75 percent and the year on year inflation rate (March 2008-March 2007) respectively reached 11.60 and 10.40 percent.
