Abstract

In December 2009, East Kalimantan experienced an inflation rate of 0.49 percent, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rising from 121.06 in November 2009 to 121.65 in December 2009. With this inflation rate, the calendar year inflation for 2009 (January-December 2009), which is also the year-on-year inflation for East Kalimantan, reached 4.31 percent.
Samarinda experienced an inflation rate of 0.26 percent, Balikpapan 0.31 percent, and Tarakan 1.76 percent in December. Thus, the calendar year inflation for 2009 (January-December) and the year-on-year inflation for these three cities were 4.06 percent for Samarinda, 3.60 percent for Balikpapan, and 7.21 percent for Tarakan.
