Abstract

Kalimantan Timur experienced an inflation of 0.04 percent in October 2009, or an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 120.88 in September 2009 to 120.93 in October 2009. With this inflation rate, inflation for calendar year 2009 (Jaruari-October 2009) Kalimantan Timur has reached 3.69 percent and inflation 'year on year' (October 2009 against October 2008) reached 3.13 percent.
Samarinda and Balikpapan in October experienced inflation of 0.12 and 0.20 percent respectively, while Tarakan City experienced deflation of 0.74 percent, thus for these three cities inflation in calendar year 2009 (January-October) respectively -has reached 3.88; 3.10 and 4.69 percent. The year on year inflation forecast (October 2008-October 2009) each reached 2.77; 2.53; and 6.20 percent.
