Abstract

In March 2011 , East Kalimantan experienced an inflation rate of 0.29 percent, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rising from 133.61 in March 2011 to 133. in March 2011. With this inflation rate, the calendar year inflation for 2011 (January-March 2011) is 2.68 percent and year-on-year inflation (March 2011 compared to March 2010), reached 7.59 percent.
When broken down by city, in March 2011, Samarinda experienced an inflation rate of 0.29 percent, Balikpapan 0.32 percent, and Tarakan 0.17 percent. Thus, the calendar year inflation for 2011 (January-March) for these three cities was 2.77 percent for Samarinda, 2.38 percent for Balikpapan, and 3.16 percent for Tarakan. The year-on-year inflation for March 2011 for these three cities was 7.73 percent for Samarinda, 7.21 percent for Balikpapan, and 8.20 percent for Tarakan.
