Abstract

The Kalimantan Timur Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) in the first quarter of 2012 was 108.80, almost the same as the previous quarter's ITK, which was 108.77. Increased household income was a factor driving the magnitude of ITK in the first quarter of 2012. The increase in income is reflected in the magnitude of the index which reached 110.22. The picture of rising income is mainly seen from the increase in regional minimum wages that always occur at the beginning of the year.

Another factor driving the ITK is the low level of inflation in Kalimantan Timur that occurred in I / 2012 quarter. With an inflation rate of 2.13 percent, the Kalimantan Timur people consider that it has no effect on daily food consumption. This can be seen from the index value of the effect of the inflation rate on food consumption which reached 111.44.
