Abstract

Kalimantan Timur in October 2012 experienced a deflation of -0.39 percent, or there was a change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 145.91 in September 2012 to 145.34 in October 2012. So until October 2012 Inflation in the calendar year Kalimantan Timur reached 4.72 percent, while year on year inflation reached 5.32 percent.

When broken down by city, in October 2012 two cities experienced deflation, namely Samarinda City -0.58 percent and Balikpapan City -0.36 percent. While the City of Tarakan experienced inflation of 0.16 percent. So that until October the calendar year inflation in Samarinda City reached 3.99 percent, Balikpapan City 5.48 percent and Tarakan City reached 5.07 percent, while the year-on-year inflation in each city was 4.55 percent; 5.44 percent; and 7.58 percent.
