Abstract

In December 2013, East Kalimantan experienced an inflation rate of 0.71 percent, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increasing from 159.57 in November 2013 to 160.71 in December 2013. Consequently, by the end of December 2013, the calendar year inflation rate, which is also the year-on-year inflation rate at the year's end, reached 9.65 percent.
When broken down by city, in December 2013, the City of Samarinda experienced an inflation rate of 0.24 percent, the City of Balikpapan had an inflation rate of 1.31 percent, and the City of Tarakan saw an inflation rate of 0.63 percent. By December 2013, the calendar year or year-on-year inflation rate for the City of Samarinda reached 10.37 percent, for the City of Balikpapan it was 8.56 percent, and for the City of Tarakan it was 10.35 percent.
