Abstract

In April 2014, East Kalimantan experienced an inflation rate of 0.32 percent. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased from 113.35 in March 2014 to 113.72 in April 2014. Consequently, the calendar year inflation rate as of April 2014 was 1.58 percent, and the year-on-year inflation rate reached 8.29 percent.

Breakdown by City:

Samarinda: Experienced an inflation rate of 0.01 percent in April 2014. The calendar year inflation rate as of April 2014 was 1.23 percent, and the year-on-year inflation rate was 8.40 percent.
Balikpapan: Saw an inflation rate of 0.79 percent in April 2014. The calendar year inflation rate as of April 2014 was 1.83 percent, and the year-on-year inflation rate was 7.74 percent.
Tarakan: Experienced an inflation rate of 0.19 percent in April 2014. The calendar year inflation rate as of April 2014 was 2.22 percent, and the year-on-year inflation rate was 9.50 percent.
