Abstract

In the province of Kalimantan Timur, the number of non-agricultural enterprises registered by the Economic Census 2016 (SE2016) reached 313 thousand businesses, an increase of 29 percent compared to the number of businesses in the Economic Census 2006 which recorded 242 thousand businesses.
Of the 313 thousand businesses SE2016 results in Kalimantan Timur, recorded as many as 99 thousand businesses that occupy a special building for business premises. Thus, as many as 214 thousand businesses do not occupy a special building business, such as traveling traders, businesses in residential homes, business pavement, and so forth.
Viewed by regency / city, Samarinda City is the district with the largest number of business is 83 thousand. However, in terms of growth, East Kutai Regency has the highest business growth of 104 percent or more than double the previous number, while Balikpapan is a growth regency / city
