During July 2019, inflation was 0.30 percent in Kalimantan Timur

Abstract

Of 82 cities monitoring national CPI, in July 2019 there were 55 cities experiencing inflation and 27 other cities experiencing deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sibolga City at 1.88 percent and the lowest occurred in Makassar City by 0.01 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Tual City at -1.55 percent and the lowest in Gorontalo City at -0.02 percent.
Kalimantan Timur Province (Combined Samarinda City and Balikpapan City) in July 2019 there was inflation of 0.30 percent with the calendar year inflation rate of 1.87 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate of 2.08 percent.
In July 2019 there was 0.59 percent inflation in Samarinda City and -0.08 percent deflation in Balikpapan City.
Inflation in Kalimantan Timur was influenced by an increase in the price index in the education, recreation and sports group with inflation of 1.96 percent followed by the health group by 0.62 percent, the clothing group by 0.60 percent then the foodstuffs group by 0.37 percent , processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.21 percent and housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.05 percent. Meanwhile the transportation and communication group experienced a deflation of -0.07 percent.
