During November 2019, there was inflation of 0.21 percent in Kalimantan Timur

Abstract

From 82 cities monitoring national CPI, in November 2019 there were 57 cities experiencing inflation and 25 other cities experiencing deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Manado municipality at 3.30 percent and the lowest occurred in Malang municipality at 0.01 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan municipality by -1.06 percent and the lowest in Batam municipality and Denpasar by -0.01 percent.
The Province of Kalimantan Timur (Combined Kota Samarinda and Kota Balikpapan) in November 2019 experienced inflation of 0.21 percent with a calendar year inflation rate of 1.25 percent and a year-on-year inflation rate of 1.80 percent.
In November 2019 there was 0.27 percent inflation in Samarinda municipality and 0.14 percent inflation in Balikpapan City.
Inflation in Kalimantan Timur was affected by an increase in the price index in the foodstuffs category which experienced inflation of 0.88 percent followed by the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group by 0.24 percent, the health group with inflation by 0.10 percent, the housing group, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.05 percent and the recreation and sports education group with inflation of 0.02 percent. Meanwhile the transportation and communication group experienced deflation of -0.01 percent and the clothing group with inflation of -0.32 percent.
