November 2020, inflation rate recorded at 0.37 percent in Kalimantan Timur

Abstract

In November 2020, out of 90 municipalities with national CPI monitoring, 83 municipalities experienced inflation and 7 other municipalities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tual at 1.15 percent and the lowest occurred in Bima at 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Kendari at -0.22 percent and the lowest at -0.01 percent occurred in Meulaboh and Palopo.
Kalimantan Timur Province (Samarinda municipality and Balikpapan municipality combined) experienced an inflation of 0.37 percent in November 2020, with a calendar year inflation rate of 0.52 percent and a year-on-year inflation rate of 0.76 percent.
In November 2020, inflation rate for Samarinda municipality was 0.36 percent and in Balikpapan municipality was 0.39 percent.
Inflation occurred due to price increases as indicated by increases in several indexes for the expenditure group, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.93 percent; followed by the transportation group by 0.83 percent; the equipment, tools, and household routine maintenance group by 0.39 percent; the health group of 0.05 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 0.03 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.02 percent; the information, communication and financial services group and the personal care and other services group each by 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, for housing, water, electricity, and fuel group; the education group and the food and beverage / restaurant supply group showed stable indices compared to the previous month.
