Abstract

  • In November 2020, out of 90 municipalities with national CPI monitoring, 83 municipalities experienced inflation and 7 other municipalities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tual at 1.15 percent and the lowest occurred in Bima at 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Kendari at -0.22 percent and the lowest at -0.01 percent occurred in Meulaboh and Palopo.
  • Kalimantan Timur Province (Samarinda municipality and Balikpapan municipality combined) experienced an inflation of 0.37 percent in November 2020, with a calendar year inflation rate of 0.52 percent and a year-on-year inflation rate of 0.76 percent.
  • In November 2020, inflation rate for Samarinda municipality was 0.36 percent and in Balikpapan municipality was 0.39 percent.
  • Inflation occurred due to price increases as indicated by increases in several indexes for the expenditure group, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.93 percent; followed by the transportation group by 0.83 percent; the equipment, tools, and household routine maintenance group by 0.39 percent; the health group of 0.05 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 0.03 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.02 percent; the information, communication and financial services group and the personal care and other services group each by 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, for housing, water, electricity, and fuel group; the education group and the food and beverage / restaurant supply group showed stable indices compared to the previous month.
