May 2022, Exports Reach US $ 2.85 Billion, down 14.43 percent compared to April 2022

Abstract

  • The export value of  Kalimantan Timur in May 2022 reached US$2.85 billion, down 14.43 percent compared to exports in April 2022. Compared to May 2021, the export value increased by 61.23%.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in May 2022 reached US$2.66 billion, down 13.96 percent compared to April 2022.
  • Cumulatively, the value of Indonesia's exports from January to May 2022 reached US$12.31 billion, an increase of 68.27 percent over the same period in 2021. Meanwhile, non-oil and gas exports reached US$11.36 million, down 61.07 percent.
  • The largest decline in non-oil and gas exports from May 2022 to April 2022 occurred in mineral fuel commodities, namely US$238.41 million (9.21 percent), while the largest increase occurred in inorganic chemicals amounting to US$32.94 million (41.87 percent).
  • By sector, non-oil and gas exports of mining products from January to May 2022 rose 74.91 percent compared to the same period in 2021, exports of industrial products rose 17.93 percent, while exports of agricultural products fell 86.16 percent.
  • The largest non-oil and gas export in May 2022 was to India at US$888.37 million, followed by China at US$454.97 million and the Philippines at US$261.77 million, with the contribution of the three reaching 60.38 percent. Meanwhile, exports to ASEAN and the European Union amounted to US$588.68 million and US$36.05 million, respectively.
  • According to the port of origin, Kalimantan Timur's largest exports in January–May 2022 came from the Samarinda Port with a value of US$3.28 billion (26.63 percent), followed by the Tanjung Bara Port at US$2.11 billion (17.11 percent) and the Balikpapan Port. US$2.57 billion (20.89 percent)
