Abstract

  • The export value of Kalimantan Timur in September 2022 reached US$3.33 billion, down 10.16 percent compared to August 2022. Compared to September 2021, the export value increased by 38.88%.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in September 2022 reached US$3.08 billion, down 6.50 percent compared to August 2022.
  • Cumulatively, the value of Kalimantan Timur's oil and gas exports from January to September 2022 reached US$2.10 billion, an increase of 160.11 percent over the same period in 2021. Meanwhile, non-oil and gas exports reached US$24.52 million, an increase of 61.51 percent.
  • The largest decline in non-oil and gas exports from September 2022 to August 2022 occurred in the category of animal or vegetable fats/oils, which fell by US$185.47 million (42.58 percent), while the largest increase occurred in the category of fertilizer goods, which increased by US$11.90 million (14 .92 percent).
  • By sector, non-oil and gas exports of mining products from January to September 2022 rose by 72.55 percent and exports of industrial products increased by 23.84 percent, while exports of agricultural products fell 27.31 percent compared to the same period last year.
  • The value of non-oil and gas exports in September 2022 to China was the largest at US$999.41 million, followed by Japan at US$401.25 million and the Philippines at US$340.72 million, with the contribution of the three reaching 56.53 percent. Meanwhile, exports to ASEAN and the European Union amounted to US$ 570.60 million and US$ 134.75 million, respectively.
  • According to the port of origin, Kalimantan Timur's largest exports in January–September 2022 came from the Samarinda Port with a value of US$7.18 billion (26.98 percent), followed by the Balikpapan Port at US$5.80 billion (21.78 percent) and the Tanjung Port.   • Oil and gas imports in September 2022 were valued at US$155.75 million, down 36.25 percent compared to the import value in August 2022, while when compared to the import value in September 2021, there was an increase of 109.17 percent.
  • Non-oil and gas imports in September 2022 were valued at US$124.93 million, down 32.28 percent compared to the import value in August 2022, while compared to September 2021 imports, there was a decline of 10.52 percent.
  • The largest decline in the value of imports of the non-oil and gas category in September 2022 when compared to the value of imports in August 2022 was in the category of machinery and mechanical equipment, which fell by US$18.54 million. On the other hand, the largest increase in value was in the category of explosives, matches and fireworks, which increased by US$3.43 million.
  • The three largest suppliers of imported non-oil and gas goods during January–September 2022 were South Korea with US$189.40 million (14.96 percent), the United States at US$184.58 million (14.58 percent), and China at US$180.69 million (14. .28 percent). Non-oil and gas imports from ASEAN amounted to US$111.40 million (8.80 percent) and the European Union amounted to US$250.91 million (19.82 percent)
  • By category of use of goods, the value of imports from January to September 2022 against the same period the previous year saw an increase in raw/auxiliary materials by US$1,741.58 million (115.16 percent), consumption goods increased by US$2.74 million (23.63 percent). ) however, capital goods fell by US$135.58 million (23.66 percent).
  • Kalimantan Timur's trade balance in September 2022 experienced a surplus of US$3.05 billion. The non-oil and gas sector had a surplus of US$2.95 billion. Meanwhile, in the oil and gas sector, the surplus was US$94.73 million.
