Abstract

  • The decrease in NTP was due to the Price Index Received by Farmers (It) which fell by 1.03 percent, while the Price Index Paid by Farmers (Ib) increased by 0.43 percent.
  • April 2023 NTP for each sub-sector: Food Crop Farmers Terms of Trade (NTPP) is 95.21; Horticultural Farmers Terms of Trade (NTPH) is 112.14; The Smallholder Plantation Plantation Farmer Terms of Trade (NTPR) is 173.14; Livestock Farmer Terms of Trade (NTPT) is 108.68; and Fishermen and Fish Farmers Terms of Trade (NTNP) is 100.39.
  • In April 2023, four sub-sectors experienced an increase in NTP, namely the food crops sub-sector (0.52 percent), the horticulture sub-sector (0.44 percent), the livestock sub-sector (0.24 percent), and the fisheries sub-sector (1.54 percent). In contrast, the smallholder plantation sub-sector experienced a decline (-3.19 percent).
  • The Agricultural Household Business Terms of Trade (NTUP) for April 2023 was 132.00, down 1.19 percent compared to the NTUP in March 2023 which was recorded at 133.59. There were four sub-sectors that experienced an increase in NTUP, namely the food crops sub-sector, the horticulture sub-sector, the livestock sub-sector, and the fisheries sub-sector. In contrast, the smallholder plantation sub-sector experienced a decline.
