Farmers' Exchange Rate (NTP) in May 2023 was 127.81 or decreased by 2.49 percent compared to the NTP in April 2023

Abstract

The decline in NTP was due to the Price Index Received by Farmers (It) which fell by 2.23 percent, while the Price Index Paid by Farmers (Ib) increased by 0.27 percent.
NTP May 2023 for each sub-sector: Food Crop Farmers Exchange Rate (NTPP) of 95.70; Horticultural Farmers Exchange Rate (NTPH) of 113.28; The Smallholder Plantation Plantation Farmer Exchange Rate (NTPR) was 164.56; Livestock Farmer Exchange Rate (NTPT) of 108.13; and Fishermen and Fish Farmers Exchange Rate (NTNP) of 100.62.
In May 2023, there were three sub-sectors that experienced an increase in NTP, namely the food crops sub-sector (0.52 percent), the horticulture sub-sector (1.02 percent), and the fisheries sub-sector (0.23 percent). In contrast, two other sub-sectors experienced a decline, namely the smallholder plantation sub-sector (-4.95 percent) and the livestock sub-sector (-0.50 percent).
The Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) in May 2023 was 128.85 or decreased by 2.39 percent compared to the NTUP in April 2023 which was recorded at 132.00. There were three sub-sectors that experienced an increase in NTUP, namely the food crops sub-sector (0.75 percent), the horticulture sub-sector (1.34 percent), and the fisheries sub-sector (0.44 percent). In contrast, two other sub-sectors experienced a decline, namely the smallholder plantation sub-sector (-4.96 percent) and the livestock sub-sector (-0.47 percent).
