Abstract

The Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) for star-class hotels in Kalimantan Timur in May 2023 was recorded at 58.12 percent, up 4.50 points compared to the previous month. When compared to the conditions of the TPK in May 2022, the TPK in May 2023 has decreased by 4.42 points.
The average length of stay for star-class hotel guests in May 2023 was 1.66 days. The average length of stay for foreign guests is 2.11 days, while the average length of stay for domestic guests is 1.65 days.
During May 2023 there were 466 visits by foreign tourists to Kalimantan Timur. When compared to the previous month, the number of foreign tourist visits in May 2023 increased by 43.83 percent.
The number of domestic air transport passengers departing in May 2023 was 221,679 people, a decrease of 8.82 percent compared to April 2023. Meanwhile, the number of passengers for overseas (international) destinations was 11,449 people, an increase of 60.60 percent compared to the previous month. During January-May 2023, the number of domestic passengers was 1,042,960 people, up 31.66 percent. Meanwhile, the number of international passengers was 11,449 people or an increase of 381,533.33 percent.
The number of domestic sea transport passengers departing in May 2023 was recorded as 44,875 people, down 17.81 percent compared to April 2023. The number of goods transported increased 15.74 percent to 6,228.53 thousand tons. During January-May 2023, the number of passengers reached 186,208 people, an increase of 27.45 percent compared to the same period in 2022, while the number of goods transported increased 7.12 percent or reached 29,724.78 thousand tons.
