Abstract

In 2023, the economy of Berau Regency measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reached Rp 51.28 trillion, and at constant 2010 prices it amounted to Rp 31.57 trillion.
The economy of Berau Regency grew by 5.44 percent in 2023, accelerating compared to the 3.95 percent growth achieved in 2022.
All sectors in Berau Regency experienced positive growth in 2023. Among the 17 sectors, the financial and insurance services sector saw the highest growth at 10.23 percent.
From a production standpoint, Berau Regency's economy in 2023 was still dominated by the mining and quarrying sector, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, as well as wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles.
The positive economic growth in 2023 occurred across all districts and cities in East Kalimantan Province. Berau Regency contributed only 6.07 percent to the total economy of districts/cities in East Kalimantan Province.
