Abstract

The value of Kalimantan Timur exports in 2006 reached US $ 16.26 billion, an increase of 13.90 percent compared to exports in 2005.
Non-oil and gas exports in 2006 reached US $ 4.66 billion, up 34.78 percent compared to 2005, while oil and gas exports in 2006 reached US $ 11.64 billion, an increase of 7.23 compared with 2005.
According to destination countries, exports to Japan in 2006 reached the largest figure of US $ 7.81 billion, followed by the Republic of Korea US $ 2.22 billion and China US $ 2.08 billion with the contribution of the three reaching 74.48 percent.
By sector, oil and gas exports are still the mainstay of Kalimantan Timur where LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) commodity was the largest contributor, US $ 8.16 billion in 2006, while the largest non-oil and gas sector was contributed by Anhydrous Ammonia which is a product of the chemical industry in the amount of US $ 345.99 million.
