Abstract

Kalimantan Timur in September experienced inflation of 1.87 percent, or there was an Increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 155.09 in August 2007 to 157.99 in September 2007. With this inflation rate, the inflation rate for calendar year 2007 (January-September 2007) Kalimantan Timur reached 6.55 percent and the 'year on year' inflation rate (September 2007 to September 2006) reached 7.42 percent.

Samarinda City experienced inflation of 2.01 percent and Balikpapan City experienced inflation of 1.70 percent. Thus for these two cities the inflation rate for calendar year 2007 (January-September) has reached 7.20 and 5.79 percent, respectively. While the inflation rate year on year (September 2006-September 2007) reached 7.86 and 6.91 percent, respectively.
