Abstract

Kalimantan Timur experienced an inflation of 0.35 percent in June 2009, or an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 117.72 in May 2009 to 118.13 in June 2009. With this inflation rate, the inflation rate for the calendar year 2009 (Jaruari-June 2009) Kalimantan Timur has reached 1.29 percent and the 'year on year' inflation rate (June 2009 to June 2008) has reached 4.91 percent.
Samarinda, Balikpapan and Tarakan experienced inflation of 0.24; 0.10 and 1.44 percent. Thus for these three cities the inflation rate for calendar year 2009 (January-June 2009) has each reached 1.92; 0.33 and 1.88 percent and the 'year on year' inflation rate (June 2009-June 2008) reaching 4.87; 3.77 and 8.40 percent.
