Abstract

Kalimantan Timur in January 2012 experienced inflation of 1.58 percent, or an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 138.78 in December 2011 to 140.98 in January 2012. For January 2012, inflation for calendar year 2012 is the same with monthly inflation, while Kalimantan Timur year on year inflation reached 5.91 percent.

If broken down by city, in January 2012 Samarinda, Balikpapan and Tarakan experienced inflation of 1.33 percent, 1.94 percent and 1.44 percent respectively. 2012 calendar year inflation is the same as monthly inflation, while year on year inflation for each city is Samarinda has reached 5.07 percent; Balikpapan 6.81 percent; and Tarakan 6.22 percent.
