Abstract
Out of 82 national CPI monitoring cities, 44 cities experienced inflation and 38 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tual City of 1.05 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Surakarta and Cilegon by 0.01 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in the city of Palu of -1.31 percent and the lowest deflation occurred in Palopo City of -0.01 percent.
Kalimantan Timur Province (Combined Samarinda City and Balikpapan City) in October 2017 occurred Deflation of 0.19 percent with a calendar year inflation rate of 2.26 percent and Year-on-year Inflation rate of 3.54 percent. In October 2017 deflation occurred 0.17 percent in the city of Samarinda and 0.22 percent deflation in the city of Balikpapan.
Deflation in Kalimantan Timur was affected by the decline in the food price index by 1.58 percent, and in the education, recreation and sports group by 0.02 percent. While the inflation expenditure group occurred in the health group by 0.35 percent, followed by the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.27 percent, the finished food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group by 0.08 percent, 0.06 percent, and transportation and communications group experienced Inflation by 0.02 percent.
