Abstract

Human development in Kalimantan Timur continues to improve, marked by the continued increase in the value of the Human Development Index (HDI). By 2017, Kalimantan Timur's HDI has reached 75.12, an increase of 0.53 points compared to last year's HDI of 74.59.
Human development progress of Kalimantan Timur in 2017 has accelerated. Characterized by the growth of HDI which reached 0.71 percent, higher than the growth of 2016 which only amounted to 0.57 percent.
By 2017, the human development status in Kalimantan Timur is at the "High" level or category. The status is still the same as in 2016.
Each component of Kalimantan Timur's HDI is improving. With the highest growth for the Per Capita Adjusted Expenditure component, the lowest is Life Expectancy Age (UHH). The value or achievement of UHH, School Expectation (HLS), School Average (RLS) and Adjusted Per Capita Expenditure, respectively 73.70 years, 13.49 years, 9.36 years and 11.61 million rupiah.
Increased HDI Kalimantan Timur occurred throughout the region, with the highest HDI is Bontang City (79.47), while the lowest is Mahakam Ulu Regency (66.09).
