Abstract

Human development in Kalimantan Timur continues to progress, which is marked by the continued increase in the value of the Human Development Index (HDI). In 2018, Kalimantan Timur's HDI reached 75.83 or increased 0.71 points compared to last year's HDI of 75.12.
Kalimantan Timur's human development progress in 2017 has accelerated. Marked by the growth of HDI which reached 0.95 percent, higher than the growth in 2016 which was only 0.71 percent.
In 2018, the status of human development in Kalimantan Timur is at the level of the "High" category. This status is still the same as 2017.
Each component forming the Kalimantan Timur HDI has increased. With the highest growth for the Adjusted Per Capita expenditure component, the lowest is Life Expectancy (UHH). The values or achievements of the UHH, Length of School Expectations (HLS), Average Length of School (RLS) and Adjusted Capita Expenditure, were 73.96 years, 13.67 years, 9.48 years, and 11.92 respectively. million rupiah.
The increase in HDI in Kalimantan Timur occurred in all regions, with the highest HDI being Kota Samarinda (79.93), while the lowest was the Regency of Mahakam Ulu (66.67).
