March 2018: Percentage of the Poor in Kalimantan Timur was 6.03 percent

Abstraction

• The number of poor people in Kalimantan Timur in March 2018 was 218.90 thousand (6.03 percent). In September 2017 as much as 218.67 thousand (6.08 percent), mean the number of poor people percentage down 0.05 percent points but in absolute increase 0.23 thousand people.
• During September 2017 - March 2018, the poverty line (GK) rose by 2.28 percent, from Rp.561,868 per capita per month in September 2017 to Rp.574.704 per capita per month in March 2018.
• The period of September 2017 - March 2018, the Poverty Depth Index fell from 0.874 in the state of September 2017 to 0.846 in March 2018. The Poverty Severity Index grew from 0.187 to 0.197 in the same period.
• In March 2018, the level of population inequality as measured by Gini Ratio was recorded at 0.342. This figure increased by 0.009 points when compared with Gini Ratio September 2017 which amounted to 0.333.
• In March 2018, the distribution of expenditure of the lowest 40 percent population group was 19.86 percent. This means that the population expenditure is still in the category of low level of inequality.
