Abstract

The percentage of poor people in March 2024 was 5.78 percent, a decrease of 0.33 percentage points against March 2023.

The number of poor people in March 2024 was 221.34 thousand people, a decrease of 9.73 thousand people against March 2023.

The percentage of the urban poor population in March 2024 was 4.47 percent, down 0.21 percentage points from March 2023. Meanwhile, the percentage of the rural poor population in March 2024 amounted to 8.76 percent, a decrease of 0.52 percentage points from March 2023.

Compared to March 2023, the number of poor people in March 2024 in urban areas decreased by 3.99 thousand people (from 122.43 thousand people in March 2023 to 118.44 thousand people in March 2024). Meanwhile, during the same period, the number of poor people in rural areas fell by 5.74 thousand people (from 108.64 thousand people in March 2023 to 102.90 thousand people in March 2024).

The Poverty Line in March 2024 was recorded at Rp833,955/capita/month with a composition of the Food Poverty Line of Rp590,571 (70.82 percent) and the Non-Food Poverty Line of Rp243,384 (29.18 percent).

In March 2024, on average, poor households in East Kalimantan Province had 5.13 household members.

Thus, the average poverty line per poor household was Rp4,278,189 per poor household per month.
