January 2019, there was inflation of 0.56 percent in Kalimantan Timur

Abstract

Of 82 cities monitoring national CPI, in January 2019, as many as 73 cities experienced inflation and 9 other cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan Municipality at 1.23 percent and the lowest occurred in Pematang Siantar Municipality by 0.01 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Tual Municipality by 0.87 percent and the lowest in Merauke Municipality, which was 0.01 percent.

Kalimantan Timur Province (Combined Samarinda Municipality and Balikpapan Municipality) in January 2019 there was inflation of 0.56 percent with the calendar year inflation rate of 0.56 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate of 3.48 percent.

In January 2019 there was 0.60 percent inflation in Samarinda Municipality and an inflation of 0.50 percent in Balikpapan Municipality.

inflation in Kalimantan Timur was influenced by an increase in the price index in the foodstuffs group by 2.87 percent followed by clothing group by 0.82 percent, housing, water, electriMunicipality, gas and fuel by 0.22 percent, then education, recreation and sports by 0.18 percent, processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.13 percent and health groups by 0.06 percent. Meanwhile the transportation and communication group experienced deflation of 0.79 percent.
