During May 2019, there was inflation of 0.56 percent in Kalimatan Timur

Abstract

Of 82 cities monitoring national CPI, in May 2019, as many as 81 cities experienced inflation and 1 other Municipality experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tual Municipality at 2.91 percent and the lowest occurred in Kota Kediri by 0.05 percent. While deflation occurred in Merauke Municipality by -0.49 percent.
Kalimatan Timur Province (Combined Samarinda Municipality and Balikpapan Municipality) in May 2019 there was inflation of 0.56 percent with a calendar year inflation rate of 1.07 percent and year-on-year inflation rate of 3.04 percent.
In May 2019 there was 0.42 percent inflation in Samarinda Municipality and inflation of 0.75 percent in Balikpapan Municipality.
Inflation in Kalimatan Timur was influenced by an increase in the price index in the foodstuffs group by 2.31 percent, followed by the clothing group by 0.42 percent, processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.28 percent and the health group by 0.25 percent, the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group by 0.20 percent and the education, recreation and sports group with inflation of 0.12 percent. Meanwhile the transportation and communication group experienced a deflation of -0.16 percent
